G. Canguilhem and facts worshipping; drafts of a human autonomy philosophy (1926-1939)

Abstract

This article analyses the formation period of Georges Canguilhem’s philosophy. It focuses on the early development of his ideas related to the value and human action autonomy theory. Two aspects of this philosophy are considered. First, the relationship beween understanding and the “facts that are part of reality, observing the impact of this value and action philosophy on the domain of three social science disciplines (psychology, sociology and history). Second, this text analyses the assigned space by these elaborations to psychoanalysis, a theory that Canguilhem relates to the foundations of the political and ethical dimension of this philosophy.
