Abstract

The ways of remembering the Holocaust in Argentina started early during the 1940 decade. From that moment to the present, the ways of memory, uses and representations were varied. This paper addresses the various historical moments in which the memory of the Holocaust was made visible in order to arrive at the context of the creation of a museum dedicated to the subject in the 1990’s. This memory became public and expanded as part of the phenomenon called "globalization of the Holocaust" in the last decade of the twentieth century. Finally, it is proposed to reflect the present of memory in Argentina.
